TAFCOM – Tanzanian Organization Facilitating Community Development Projects
TAFCOM (Tanzanian Organization Facilitating Community Development Projects) is a community-based organization working in Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro region since 2005. TAFCOM supports children, women, and families through community development programs focused on education, health, women empowerment, and poverty alleviation.
TAFCOM’s projects are designed to meet real needs identified by local communities and are carried out with the involvement of families and village leaders. These projects focus on building practical skills, improving health and access to resources, and creating income opportunities for women.
TAFCOM’s Key Projects Include:
-
Women’s Tailoring Group: Vocational training that provides women with sewing skills they can use to earn income and support their families
-
Microloan Program: Small loans that help women start or expand small businesses and improve household stability
-
Reusable Sanitary Pads Project: Production and distribution of reusable sanitary pads to support girls’ education, dignity, and health
-
Education & Community Support Programs: Efforts that improve access to education, health education, and basic services
Friends-Together is proud to partner with TAFCOM and actively participates in several of these projects, including the Microloan Program and the Reusable Sanitary Pads Project.
