·                 34,000,000 People worldwide are living with HIV/AIDS.

·                 900,000 People in the United States are living with HIV/AIDS, 450,000 have died in the US, since 1981.

·                 100,000 Floridians were diagnosed with HIV/AIDS as of January 2001.

·                 90,000 Floridians are living with HIV/AIDS.

·                 60,000 Floridians know they have HIV/AIDS.

·                 5,000 Men, Women and Children are newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS each year in Florida.

·                 One out of every 168 Floridians is living with HIV/AIDS.

·                 Florida has the third highest number of total AIDS cases in the nation.

·                 Florida has the second highest number of pediatric and female AIDS cases in the nation.

·                 Only 20-25% of HIV positive mothers will pass the virus to their children, with medication we can drop that to less than 4%.

·                 400,000 – 500,000 HIV-infected persons may be untested, untreated or both.
