Friends-Together is inviting you to be part of a very special program. As many of you know we speak to thousands of people every year, the vast majority of who are school aged kids. We are in a unique place to reach young people and old people alike. What we have found over the years is, prevention message work best when you give folks something they cannot deny. Thus, the birth of this project.
The Banner Project is designed for two specific purposes that come together to make an unbeatable educational tool. We are accepting two kinds of Banner Projects. The first is a memorial project. It is designed to give people an opportunity to express their feelings about the death of a specific person, or groups of people who has passed on from AIDS. Memorial Banners may be made in one of three sizes; they may be 3 feet by 3 feet, 6 feet by 3 feet, or 6 feet by 6 feet. They should be made out of material, and thought given to creating a project that will be seen many times, thus needs to be durable for exposition.
The second type Banner we are accepting are prevention Banners. These projects should be prevention oriented and acceptable for diverse audiences. (NO profanity or nudity.) These Banners may be constructed in any of the three sizes as well.
Once submitted your project will travel the state, to various locations and be available to be lent to schools, churches and civic organizations. As with all of our work we see this as a great chance to reach people of all ages. Not only does this project give an opportunity for friends and families to heal it also allows them to reach out to others who may need to be touched.
It is with great excitement we start this adventure. Thanks to all of you who will make it possible,
Cathy
